Meagan Lefebvre LICSW
As a therapist who specializes in working with adults who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, co-dependency, burnout, and trauma, I’ve come to believe an act of true self-care is creating a life we don’t want to escape. I recognize the impact of the mind-body connection, not only on how we live our lives, but also how we respond to challenges and interact with others. While we may not choose the challenges and obstacles we have faced, or are currently facing, I do believe we can work towards responding to them in ways that help us feel more grounded, empowered and confident. Connecting to and listening to our bodies and understanding our thoughts and feelings allows us to navigate our lives more authentically and effectively. In session, we will work on increasing your awareness so that you can better work through and manage anxiety, trauma, and life transitions, or work towards building and connecting in relationships that feel more authentic to you.
My sessions tend to be interactive, educational, person-centered and strength-based. I have a gentle, yet honest, communication style mixed with compassion, empathy and a dose of humor. I value providing a warm, non-judgmental and supportive space where you can feel heard and seen.
A large part of my background comes from my experience as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), with more than a decade of experience in the social service, substance use and mental health fields. I have experience working in social services with the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and homeless communities, clinical experience working with pregnant and postpartum mothers struggling with addiction, as well as adults dealing with a wide range of mental health challenges.
I use various modalities, and am trained in mindfulness practices, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
In addition to my clinical practice, I enjoy crafting, painting, hiking, antiquing, creating charcuterie boards, trying new foods and spending time with family and friends.
If you feel like we are a good fit, feel free to reach out by phone or email, with email being the quickest way to reach me. I look forward to hearing from you!
